In 1984, Ashby’s Sterling Ice Cream owners, the Davis family, began creating our delicious ice cream with the ice cream connoisseur in mind.  Their vision was to make an ice cream that tasted as good as it looked.  Using the finest ingredients--and lots of them—Ashby’s Sterling Ice Cream quickly grew from the initial eight specialty flavors to over 60 unique ice cream, sherbet, and yogurt flavors.  Now, twenty plus years later, flavors are still “created”, not copied from other ice cream companies.

Over the years, many of our flavors have been tested, tasted, and judged by independent food-science professionals who have deemed our quality to be nearly perfect by industry standards.  In 2009, Ashby’s Sterling Ice Cream won numerous awards for its quality, with a perfect score for Vanilla; and in years past “Best New Flavor” awards from the National Ice Cream Retailers Association (NICRA), other awards came from the World Dairy Expo, and the LA County Fair.  . 

On January 30, 2009, Ashby's Sterling received the "President's Award" from the Great Lakes Ice Cream and Fast Food Association for its many years of service and sponsorship of the organization. Click here for a list of our awards

Ashby’s Sterling Ice Cream is distributed throughout most of the United States, with the exception of states west of the Rocky Mountains.  We specialize in hand dipped ice cream, sold at ice cream parlors and foodservice/restaurant locations.  Click here to find a location near you.

We are not a franchise, we are an ice cream manufacturer with lots of support for our retailers and distributors.  The parlors we serve are independently owned and operated.  However, some are licensed to use the Ashby’s Sterling name and graphics, while others opt to use their own store design and feature our ice cream. Our program is easy and flexible.  Click here to ask us how we can help.
